Sun stop Liberty

Uncasville, CT - Lindsay Whalen scored 20 points, had nine rebounds and dished out eight assists to lead Connecticut past New York, 79-75, at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Erika Desouza added 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Sun, who won for the seventh time in eight games. Asjha Jones also had 16 points while Evanthia Maltsi chipped in with 12.
Janel McCarville had a game-high 24 points and 10 boards for the slumping Liberty, who have lost five straight. Loree Moore finished with 14 points and Shameka Christon had 11 for New York.
