Silver Stars cruise past Monarchs

San Antonio, TX - Becky Hammon had 18 points as the San Antonio Silver Stars downed the Sacramento Monarchs, 81-71, at AT&T center.
Sophia Young added 15 points, Vickie Johnson had 12 and Ruth Riley donated 11 points for the Silver Stars, who won their sixth straight.
Kara Lawson had 16 points and Ticha Penicheiro added 11 for the Monarchs, who have lost their last three games.
San Antonio trailed, 27-17, after the first quarter, but outscored the Monarchs by nine points in the second and third quarters and cruised to the win.
