Phoenix, AZ - Cappie Pondexter's jumper with two seconds remaining in the second overtime was enough to lift the Phoenix Mercury over the Connecticut Sun, 111-109.
Pondexter ended with 25 points and Penny Taylor had 30 before fouling out for the Mercury, who scored the final seven points of the game.
Tangela Smith added 18 points, nine assists and eight boards and Diana Taurasi tallied 18 points with eight boards for Phoenix, which has won four straight. Kelly Miller had 15 points for the Mercury, who had all five starters score in double figures.
Kelly Schumacher's five points were the only points off the bench for Phoenix.
Asjha Jones and Nykesha Sales each scored 22 points to lead the Sun, who have lost four of five. Kristen Rasmussen recorded 17 points and 13 boards and Katie Douglas had 17 points for Connecticut, which has also dropped nine of its last 11 contests.
Down 109-104, Taurasi began the comeback with a three-pointer at the 1:52 mark. Smith added a jumper to tie the game at 109 and Pondexter won it with her jumper with two ticks remaining.
The Sun had one last chance to at least tie the game, but the Sun committed the last of their 25 turnovers to seal their fate.
