Liberty tame Sparks

Los Angeles, CA - Loree Moore's 20 points, five assists and six steals paced New York over Los Angeles, 80-68, in WNBA action from the Staples Center.
Shameka Christon scored 13 points for the Liberty, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ashley Battle added 11 points and both Cathrine Kraayeveld and Janel McCarville had 10 points. Lisa Willis only scored four points in her return to LA after being traded from the Sparks last week.
Marta Fernandez poured in 17 points for the Sparks, who have dropped five of seven. Latoya Thomas contributed 12 points off the bench, while Sidney Spencer added 11 points and eight boards.
New York jumped out to a 21-12 lead after the first quarter and never trailed thereafter, shooting 48 percent from the field.
