Mercury shoot down Comets

Phoenix, AZ - Penny Taylor poured in 30 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Phoenix Mercury downed the Houston Comets, 90-85, at US Airways Center.
Belinda Snell added 17 points for the Mercury, who were without Diana Taurasi who was serving the first of her two-game suspension for inappropriate conduct toward game officials after Friday night's 87-84 loss to Detroit. Tangela Smith donated 16 points for Phoenix, which had lost three of their previous four games.
Crystal Smith scored 18 points and Hamchetou Maiga and Ashley Shields had 16 apiece for the Comets, who had won their previous two games after starting the season 0-10.
