Thompson, Shields lead Comets past Mystics

Houston, TX - Tina Thompson scored 23 points and Ashley Shields added 20 as the Houston Comets downed the Washington Mystics, 95-85, at the Toyota Center.
Hamchetou Maiga-Ba had 18 points for the Comets, who won their second straight after an 0-10 start.
DeLisha Milton-Jones registered 24 points and Nakia Sanford had 21 and 11 boards for the Mystics, who fell to 2-10 in the season.
The Comets began the second half on a 16-4 run, including 12 straight points that gave Houston a 59-47 lead with 5:16 remaining in the third quarter.
Houston shot 54.2 percent while holding Washington to 36.4 percent shooting from the field.
