From Monsters and Critics.com Tennis London - The classic Wimbledon weather curse finally arrived on Wednesday, with Roger Federer stranded 6-1, 1-1 against Mario Ancic in their high-profile quarter-final owing to light rain. The Swiss who is bidding for his sixth straight trophy at the All England club swept through the first set in 20 minutes and was just stuck into the second when they were interrupted. After 90 minutes of waiting, officials announced the arrival of a sharp shower followed by a promising forecast of a clear late afternoon and evening. Croatian Ancic was the last man to defeat Federer on grass, in the Wimbledon first round in 2002. Federer has not dropped a set at this edition as he extended his six-year grass win streak to 63 matches. In another quarter-final, Spain's Feliciano Lopez led Marat Safin 5-2. Wednesday's weather was only the second time during the fortnight that rain ha blighted the programme after a 90-minute delay last Friday.
