From Monsters and Critics.com Tennis Montreal, QC - Next week's Rogers Cup event will have to do without world No. 1 Amelie Mauresmo and former top-ranked star Venus Williams, as both players withdrew from the tournament. The reigning Wimbledon, Australian Open and WTA Championships titlist Mauresmo is nursing a shoulder injury, while Williams has a wrist problem. Neither player has performed since Wimbledon last month. Mauresmo topped Justine Henin-Hardenne in the Wimbledon finale, and also topped the French Open champ in January's Aussie Open title match. Williams is currently ranked 30th on the WTA Tour and has appeared in only five tournaments so far this season.
