Venus Williams withdraws from JPMorgan Chase Open

Carson, CA - Venus Williams withdrew from next week's JPMorgan Chase Open due to an ongoing left wrist injury.

Williams has played in five tournament this year, but hasn't been on the court for competition since Wimbledon.

'I regret not having the opportunity to compete in Los Angeles where so many of my friends and fans live,' Williams said. 'I am in the process of getting treatment and hope to be back on Tour in the very near future.'

Williams is currently ranked No. 32. She also withdrew from this week's Acura Classic.
