Djokovic beats Nadal for Wimbledon title
Jul 3, 2011, 15:49 GMT
London - Novak Djokovic claimed his first Wimbledon title to confirm his new world number one ranking with a 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 defeat of Rafael Nadal on Sunday.
The Serb's victory marked his second Grand Slam trophy of the season after the Australian Open and his fifth win out of five finals played against Nadal this season.
Djokovic will replace the Spaniard at the top of the ATP list on Monday, taking the top ranking for the first time. Defeat denied Nadal the French Open-Wimbledon double as he failed in a bid to win his third Wimbledon trophy.
