Ivanovic continues to top WTA rankings

Hamburg - Ana Ivanovic of Serbia continues to head the women's tennis rankings issued Monday by the WTA. The French Open champion Ivanovic has 3,828 points with compatriot Jelena Jankovic moving up one place to second on 3,685 points. Russia's Maria Sharapova drops to third on 3,626 points while newly-crowned Wimbledon champion Venus Williams remains in seventh spot. WTA top 10 as of July 7 (previous ranking in parenthesis): 1. (1) Ana Ivanovic, Serbia, 3,828; 2. (3) Jelena Jankovic, Serbia, 3,685; 3. (2) Maria Sharapova, Russia, 3,626; 4. (4) Svetlana Kuznetsova, Russia, 3,455; 5. (6) Serena Williams, United States, 3,126; 6. (5) Elena Dementieva, Russia, 3,105; 7. (7) Venus Williams, United States, 2,606; 8. (8) Anna Chakvetadze, Russia, 2,486; 9. (9) Dinara Safina, Russia, 2,287; 10. (11) Agnieszka Radwanska, Poland, 2,171.
