Murray to miss Queen's as grass season starts without him
Jun 7, 2007, 10:50 GMT
London - Andy Murray's lingering wrist injury has forced the British number one out of next week's Queen's event which begins the summer grass-court season.
The world number 11 hurt his right wrist on May 15 in a match at Hamburg and now could find his Wimbledon participation under threat.
'My wrist is getting better every day but it's just too soon to play,' the Scot told his website. 'I've been hitting balls softly and doing strengthening exercises for it, also been getting treatment every day and working out in the gym.'
British hopes at the elite Wimbledon warm-up now rest with veteran Tim Henman, who has won just a single ATP match this season since starting late in February after tweaking his back during December training .
Murray will be fighting for fitness in time for the June 25 start of Wimbledon.

NOTEBOOK: Chinese dream fades in 2007 =
Paris (dpa) - Chinese women have so far failed to impress this tennis season after making a breakthrough at Grand Slams in 2006.
The French Open began badly as Zheng Jie and Sun Tiantian went out in the opening round.
Li Na got as far as the third before losing while last season's Australian Open and Wimbledon doubles champions Yan Zi and Zheng were beaten in the first round of that event.
The 2004 Athens Olympic gold medalist Sun Tiantian and new partner Sun Shengnan won a round before falling.
The Serbian surge at this edition of Roland Garros has wiped away memories of Chinese success.
A leading coach said on a Chinese federation website that the women needed to work hard on mental toughness. 'It's more a mental problem,' said Jiang Hongwei.
'The player don't have the desire of last year. We need to break through or we will have problems preparing for the Beijing Olympics.'
The 2006 success included Li booking a Top 20 ranking spot while Zheng won singles trophies at Estoril and Stockholm.
