Nadal says players treated 'like criminals' on doping tests

Manacor, Spain - Men's tennis world number two Rafael Nadal says athletes are being treated 'like criminals' on doping controls and that politicians should also be drug tested.
'We are being treated like criminals, and this is something to take into account because I don't see politicians undergoing anti-doping controls or anything like it,' the Spanish player told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa at his hometown Manacor.
Nadal, who will be travelling to India on December 29 to start the new season at the Chennai Open, said he underwent his last doping control at his home in Manacor on Saturday, one of '16 or 17' controls this year.
'I am simply one sportsman more. I accept the anti-doping controls but they seem to me to be exaggerated,' he said.
Last summer Nadal was linked in a French newspaper report to the doping investigation which engulfed Spanish cycling. He has vehemently denied having anything to do with drugs.
