Tevez apologizes to Manchester City over his conduct
Feb 22, 2012, 6:07 GMT
London - Carlos Tevez cleared the way for a return to the Manchester City squad after he apologized 'unreservedly' to the club for his conduct over the past few months.
The Argentina striker returned recently after an unauthorised absence of almost three months, vowing to help City win the Premier League.
Manager Roberto Mancini, who initially said Tevez was finished at the club, said there could be a way back if he apologized, which he did on Tuesday night.
'I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions have caused offence,' Tevez said in a statement.
'My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City football club.'
Tevez has also withdrawn his appeal against the club's misconduct charge.
The 28-year-old forward has not played for City since September when he allegedly refused to come off the substitutes' bench in the Champions League match away to Bayern Munich.
City are two points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.
