Manchester City report racist abuse claim to UEFA
Feb 17, 2012, 12:32 GMT
London - Manchester City have made an official complaint to UEFA, alleging some of their players were subjected to racial abuse by sections of the crowd during their Europa League win at Porto on Thursday.
Italian striker Mario Balotelli told officials he had heard monkey chants from the crowd and midfielder Yaya Toure told Sky Sports News: 'I heard something.
'That's why we like the Premier League, it never happens there. Maybe other countries don't expect black players.'
City manager Roberto Mancini said after the game he had not heard the chanting but the club made their official complaint after listening to the words of Balotelli and Toure.
