QPR complete signing of Onuoha
Jan 26, 2012, 12:33 GMT
London- Queens Park Rangers on Thursday finalized the signing of the Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The 25-year-old, who impressed on loan at Sunderland last year, has played only 14 minutes of Premier League football this season.
He follows full-back Taye Taiwo as QPR's second signing of the January transfer window.
'Nedum is a player I know very well,' said QPR manager Mark Hughes. 'He did very well for me at Manchester City and played a number of games, probably more than under any other manager.'
Onuoha, who can play at right-back on in the centre, was delighted to have secured the move.
'This was the right time for me to join a club like QPR,' he said.
'The manager obviously played a massive factor in my decision to come here.I've worked with him before and he always wants players around him who are open and honest.
'He wouldn't have come here if he didn't believe that there was a squad of players here that can achieve the goals he has.'
