Jan 19, 2012, 23:18 GMT
London - Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea may have laser eye surgery at the end of the season to cure his long-sightedness, according to UK newspaper The Guardian.
The Spaniard, who has suffered an error-strewn first season at Old Trafford, wears contact lenses during matches.
United knew of the condition when they signed him for 18.3 million pounds last summer and have recommended he have the surgery in June, the Guardian said.
De Gea was dropped from the United team three matches ago after a number of mistakes.
