China's Shanghai Shenhua to sign Chelsea's Anelka in January
Dec 12, 2011, 8:11 GMT
London - Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua have agreed to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka in the January transfer window.
In a statement on their website, Shenua said the 32-year-old Frenchman had agreed a two-year deal. A photo of Anelka was immediately placed on the front page of their website.
Anelka has scored 59 goals in 185 appearances for Chelsea since joining the London club in January 2008 but new manager Andre Villas Boas said he could leave.
The signing of Anelka is more evidence of Shenua's intentions to win the Chinese league, with Brazilian forwards Cleo and Muriqui having already joined the club.
