Berlin - Former Bundesliga coach Christoph Daum is to take over at Belgian side Bruges, the club confirmed Wednesday.
Daum has agreed a contract until June 2013 with an option for a further year.
Daum, 58, is a former coach of Bayer Leverkusen, Cologne and VfB Stuttgart, with whom he won the Bundesliga title in 1992. He was most recently in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt but left after the side's relegation last season to the second division.
Daum, who has also coached in Turkey, winning league titles with Fenerbahce and Besiktas, and Austria, where he won the league title with Austria Vienna.
He will succeed Dutchman Adrie Koster at the 13-time Belgian champions, and is expected to be in charge of his first training session later in the day following an official presentation and news conference.
Bruges have gone six matches without a win in all competitions, but lead their group in the Europa League.
