Tevez facing further City sanctions
Nov 9, 2011, 9:37 GMT
London - Manchester City were on Wednesday pondering their next move after striker Carlos Tevez returned to Argentina without permission.
Tevez, who has made no secret of his desire to leave the club in January, flew back to his homeland on Tuesday after deciding not to contest a fine of two weeks' wages imposed for misconduct during the Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich on September 27.
The 27-year-old was initially accused of having refused to play, although he insisted he had merely refused to warm up, believing he was ready to come on.
Tevez was expected to report to City's Carrington base for training on Wednesday morning. Failure to appear could result in further disciplinary action, reports said.
'He's gone to see his family,' Tevez's PR advisor Paul McCarthy told Sky Sports News.
'They flew back when he flew back, when he was suspended by Manchester City, and he's gone back to see them.
'We've said all along that Carlos is aware of situation in terms of getting back to his fitness. I can't really say much more until he's back in the country.'
