Jun 7, 2011, 8:33 GMT
London - Fulham appointed Dutchman Martin Jol as their new manager on Tuesday, replacing Mark Hughes, who resigned last week.
The 55-year-old former Tottenham manager signed a two-year-contract with the Premier League club from London, with an option to extend his deal for an extra year.
'I am very happy to join Fulham,' he said. 'It is a wonderful, traditional club, a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base.
'I am looking forward to being part of the Fulham family and thank the chairman for the trust he's shown in me.'
Jol led Tottenham to two consecutive fifth-place finishes in 2006 and 2007. After being sacked by Spurs, he coached Hamburg in Germany and Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.
