Jan 25, 2011, 15:22 GMT
London - West Ham completed the signing of midfielder Gary O'Neil from Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal having moved for an undisclosed fee.
O'Neil spent two years with West Ham as a youngster and admits it feels he has 'come home'.
'I'm really pleased to sign,' he told the club website. 'It all happened very quickly.
'I played for Middlesbrough at the weekend and didn't know anything was going to happen. It has all gathered pace since then.
'There was also a big rush to do it quickly when they realised I wasn't cup-tied.'
O'Neil is available for Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final second leg away to Birmingham City. West Ham lead 2-1 from the first leg.
