Wigan's Boselli confirms Genoa loan
Jan 12, 2011, 9:03 GMT
London - Striker Mauro Boselli confirmed on Wednesday that he will spend the second half of the season on loan at Italy's Genoa in a move from Premier League club Wigan.
The Argentinian Boselli joined Wigan from Estudiantes for 6 million pounds (9.4 million dollars) in the summer, but has struggled to make an impact.
'6 months at Genoa, very happy!' he tweeted, confirming his happiness at a new start in the Serie A.
The 25-year-old will team up with countrymen Franco Zuculini and Rodrigo Palacio at the Luigi Ferraris.
Genoa's proposed move to sign Mauro Formica from Newell's Old Boys, though, collapsed.
'Everything had been arranged and was all perfect. Genoa were going to pay to Newell's 3.5 million Euros (4.6million dollars),' his agent Fabian Basualdo said.
'In addition, Mauro had left the pre-season work because everything was ready for him signing the contract and travel to Italy but during Tuesday afternoon they changed all the conditions and we didn't accept them.'
