Blatter believes in January World Cup

Doha - The president of football's governing body FIFA on Friday said he believed the 2022 World Cup which will be held in Qatar should be played in January.
Addressing media in the capital of the Gulf state, where he is to attend the opening game of the Asian Cup later Friday between the hosts and Uzbekistan, Blatter said that he believed the World Cup will be held in winter.
Summer temperatures in the oil-rich country, which will be the first from its region to host the World Cup, can soar to 50 degrees during June and July, when the World Cup is traditionally played.
'We have time to look at this question, it is still 11 years away but we must decide the most adequate period for a successful World Cup which means January or the end of the year.'
The Swiss national, who is seeking a fourth term in office later this year, said that although the bid proposal but forward a June/July World Cup, that was not cast in stone.
'The FIFA executive committee is entitled to change anything that was in the bid.
'When you play football you have to protect the main people, the players.'
