Wrong boots earn Guerrero another fine (correction)
Nov 3, 2010, 14:30 GMT
Hamburg - SV Hamburg striker Paolo Guerrero has been fined 10,000 euros (14,000 dollars) by the Bundesliga club for playing in the wrong boots, the weekly Sportbild reported Wednesday.
According to Sportbild, the Peruvian played two Bundesliga matches in Nike boots although SV Hamburg have a contract with Adidas.
The club would not comment on the report.
Guerrero, 26, who has his own sponsorship deal with Nike, has had to pay fines amounting to almost 200,000 euros this year.
He was fined a record sum by his club in April for throwing a plastic bottle at a fan, and then both fined and suspended for five matches by the German football federation for the incident.
Two weeks ago he angrily kicked an advertising hoarding after being substituted, but the club took no action after he apologised.
'I want to concentrate on playing football. Instead I have to keep on paying fines although I don't want any trouble,' Guerrero was quoted as saying by Sportbild.
