Dutch get two days off, change hotels
Jul 7, 2010, 16:02 GMT
Johannesburg - Dutch World Cup players got two days off by coach Bert van Marwijk Wednesday and Thursday but don't have to look for a new hotel themselves ahead of the final.
Van Marwijk let his players recuperate from Tuesday's 3-2 semi-final victory against Uruguay in Cape Town and will start preparations for Sunday's final against Spain or Germany on Friday.
The Netherlands have never won the World Cup. They were finalists against West Germany in 1974 and Argentina in 1978.
While the players could relax they will have to change hotels in Johannesburg, though, on Thursday.
But the Dutch federation KNVB dismissed news reports that it was at fault of having not booked into the Johannesburg Hilton until the final. The KNVB said the ruling football body FIFA has allocated special hotels for the finalists and that teams have to comply.
