Hinds gives West Ham last gasp win over Villa

London - A goal from Zavon Hinds in the 90th minute gave West Ham United their first win since the opening day of the season in a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Upton Park in Wednesday's only English Premier League game. Villa missed the chance to move into the top four and they remain in seventh place with 18 points. West Ham jump three places and out of the relegation zone to 16th with 10 points. The home side took the lead in the closing seconds of the first half through a Mark Noble penalty after defender Habib Beye, who was later sent off for a second yellow card, had brought down Zavon Hinds for a penalty. Villa almost equalised from the spot themselves early in the second half but Ashley Young's penalty was saved by West Ham keeper Rob Green. Young though redeemed himself shortly after with a goal that appeared to have been intended as a cross into the area instead floated high over Green's head and into the net. But in stoppage time at the end of the match Hinds stunned the away side by firing high past Green after being put through by Scott Parker's neat pass to give manager Gianfranco Zola's side a much needed win.
