Veteran Guti to miss Real Madrid-Milan clash

Madrid - Veteran midfielder Guti is not in the Real Madrid squad announced on Tuesday for Wednesday's high-profile Champions League clash at home to AC Milan. The 32 year-old playmaker has not recovered from the twisted right ankle which kept him out of Saturday's 4-2 home win over Valladolid. In contrast, Lassana Diarra and Gonzalo Higuain are in the squad named by Manuel Pellgrini, having recovered from heavy knocks picked up in Saturday's match. Real's injury victims, in addition to Guti, are Cristiano Ronaldo, Christoph Metzelder, Fernando Gago and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Real are top of Group C with six points, having won their first two matches, against FC Zurich and Olympique Marseille. Milan are joint second in the group on three points with FC Zurich, who surprisingly beat them in San Siro three weeks ago.
