Adebayor awaits work permit for City switch
Jul 15, 2009, 11:04 GMT
London - Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor is only waiting on a work permit to complete his switch from Arsenal to Manchester City, it emerged on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old is reported to have passed a medical, with the clubs having agreed a deal believed to be 25 million pounds (41 million dollars).
The work permit should be a formality, and if the deal does go through, it will take City's spending this year to around 200 million pounds.
Argentina forward Carlos Tevez and Paraguay's Roque Santa Cruz have already added depth to the forward line this summer, with Gareth Barry being brought in to bolster the back of the midfield.
City have also made extensive efforts to sign centre-back John Terry from Chelsea.
