Crouch set to start for England; Agbonlahor called up

London - England manager Fabio Capello has confirmed that Peter Crouch will start in attack for England in their World Cup qualifying match with Ukraine on Wednesday. Crouch will take the place of Darren Bent, who limped out of training on Tuesday, adding to an attacking injury list that includes Emile Heskey and Carlton Cole. 'I am sure that Crouch is the best forward I can put into the first XI,' Capello said. Crouch is therefore likely to partner Wayne Rooney up front for England as they look to maintain their place at the top of group six with their fifth win from five qualifiers. Bent lasted just five minutes of training on Tuesday, but Rio Ferdinand is expected to be fit to partner captain John Terry in defence after missing the 4-0 friendly win over Slovakia on Saturday. Capello has also called up Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor 'I spoke with the assistant manager of Aston Villa and was told Agbonlahor had been training very well during the last two or three days,' the Italian said.
