Argentina continue to command FIFA rankings
Mar 12, 2008, 11:08 GMT
Zurich - Argentina lead the way in an unchanged top 10 of the football rankings issued on Wednesday by the world governing body FIFA.
Argentina have 1,556 points to rank ahead of South American rivals Brazil (1,514) and World Cup champions Italy (1,505).
The trio enjoys a comfortable advantage over the next teams, with Spain (1,355), Germany (1,294), the Czech Republic (1,253), France (1,234), Portugal (1,206), the Netherlands (1,179) and European champions Greece (1,160) completing the top 10.
There was little movement in the FIFA rankings compared to last month as only few matches were played in the period. A series of friendlies and World Cup qualifiers is set for later in March, and a bigger shakeup then likely at Euro 2008 in June.
