Liverpool's Gerrard fractures toe
Aug 17, 2007, 7:10 GMT
Liverpool, England - Liverpool's Steven Gerrard fractured his toe Wednesday but is still expected to play this weekend against Chelsea.
Gerrard sustained the hairline fracture in a 1-0 win at Toulouse of France in a Champions League third qualifying round first leg match.
Although Gerrard expects to play for Liverpool on Sunday, he will probably miss England's friendly with Germany on Wednesday. England is already missing Wayne Rooney after the Manchester United striker fractured his foot.
Rooney was injured in a 0-0 draw with Reading in the first game of the English Premier League season and will miss two months.
