Barcelona, Spain - Even the return of superstar Ronaldinho after a two-game absence wasn't enough for Barcelona Saturday. The defending Spanish La Liga champions lost its city derby at Espanyol 3-1 to fall two points behind Sevilla in the table.
Sevilla can make it a five point lead if it can win when its hosts fourth- from-the-bottom Mallorca on Sunday.
Luis Garcia gave Espanyol a 1-0 lead half an hour into the game before Barca striker tied it in the 60th.
A goal by Raul Tamudo five minutes later proved to be the game-winner before Rufete put the nail in Barcelona's coffin with a 90th minute tally.
The first goal was scored when Tamudo got past Belletti and passed to Garcia, who scored from close range.
The equalizer was scored when Saviola took a feed from Eidur Gudjohnsen and fired a low shot into the back of the net.
Tamudo headed in a goal to put his side up again before Rufete in stoppage time with Barcelona pressing forward for the equalizer.
In the other La Liga contest on Saturday, Valencia topped Levante, 3-0, to move into third place in the table with 33 points.
