Real keeps Beckham from attending Cruise's wedding

Madrid, Spain - David Beckham was part of the A-listers invited to the much-anticipated wedding between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on Saturday.
However, Real Madrid told its superstar that he had to be at practice on Saturday, meaning he could not attend the wedding. The 31-year-old midfielder sat out the match against Racing on Saturday due to a knee injury, but was not given special treatment for this extravagant event because the club required him to be in Spain to work on his fitness.
'David has to stay in Madrid and work,' said Real coach Fabio Capello at a press conference earlier in the week.
This is just the latest of the turmoil between Beckham and Real this season. He has only started three games so far, and has been rumored to be making the move back to the Premiership or even Major League Soccer.
In fact, Beckham's entire tenure in Madrid has been a disappointment. The club has failed to win a major trophy since the two parties joined in 2003.
On a side note, Real Madrid got by Racing without Beckham, 3-1, on Saturday.
