Liverpool, England - Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is expected to miss his club's next couple of matches after suffering an injury in international play with the Netherlands over the weekend.
Kuyt suffered strained ankle ligaments while playing for the Dutch in their 1-1 draw with Bulgaria on Saturday. He has been ruled out of the Netherlands qualifier with Albania on Wednesday, but is also expected to miss time for Liverpool.
He will be a spectator for Liverpool's Premiership match with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, and will also be absent from the pitch when the Reds meet Bordeaux in Champions League action next week.
The 26-year-old sniper has scored two goals in six appearances in his first season at Anfield after joining the team from Feyenoord. In addition, Kuyt has 26 international caps with five goals to his name.
