Houston, TX - Craig Waibel's lone goal proved enough for the Houston Dynamo to shut out FC Dallas, 1-0, Saturday at Robertson Stadium.
With the victory, the Dynamo squashed the Hoops four-game winning streak and cut the team's first-place lead to only four points.
Waibel scored the game-winning goal in the 37th minute to record his second of the season. Teammate Dwayne De Rosario received the assist
The weekend match marked the third of four meetings between the two clubs. In their first match on May 6, the Dynamo picked up the win, before the intrastate rivals fought to a 1-1 draw a week later.
The two teams conclude their league series on September 2, in Frisco. The winner of the series will be awarded 'El Capitan,' the 18th-century Mountain Howitzer cannon.
The Dynamo face Real Salt Lake next Saturday, while the Hoops head to Los Angeles Sunday to battle the Galaxy.
