Oslo - Norwegian teenager Magnus Wolff Eikrem is slated to move from local lower league club Molde to English giants Manchester United, reports said Friday.
The promising midfielder, who has played a few times for second division side Molde, was spotted three years ago at a football camp in Norway led by former Manchester player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Eikrem was soon in touch with Manchester United and trained several times in England, the Romsdals Budstikke newspaper reported.
Since he is only 15, he has not signed a contract. Eikrem turns 16 on August 8, and soon after that he was expected to sign a two-year scholarship contract with United's football academy.
'Magnus is a special person with a special talent, and he now gets a golden opportunity in one of the world's greatest football clubs. It is really exciting,' his agent and advisor Jim Solbakken told Romsdals Budstikke.
The deal would mean that Eikrem's schooling, board and lodging would be covered by Manchester United, and he would get a salary.
Eikrem was not available for comment due to a school excursion in the Norwegian mountains that did not have mobile phone coverage, the paper said.
