Huntelaar, Castelen left out of Dutch World Cup squad

Amsterdam - Strikers Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Romeo Castelen are among the five players left out of the 23-man-Dutch squad called up for the World Cup by coach Marco van Basten Sunday. The others not joining the squad from the list of 28 announced a week ago are Barry Opdam, Nigel de Jong and George Boateng. Under FIFA regulations, Van Basten can replace injured players who are on the official list, as of 15 May, up to 24 hours prior to the team's first match provided the governing body is supplied with evidence of serious injury. The final group comprises: Goalkeepers: Edwin van der Sar (Manchester United), Henk Timmer (AZ) and Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax). Defenders: Andre Ooijer (PSV Eindhoven), John Heitinga (Ajax), Kew Jaliens (AZ), Jan Kromkamp (Liverpool), Khalid Boulahrouz (Hamburger SV), Joris Mathijsen (AZ), Tim de Cler (AZ) and Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Barcelona). Midfielders: Denny Landzaat (AZ), Mark van Bommel (Barcelona), Phillip Cocu (PSV), Hedwiges Maduro (Ajax), Wesley Sneijder (Ajax) and Rafael van der Vaart (SV Hamburg).
