France now rank number two in the world after defeating All Blacks

Paris - Following their defeat of New Zealand in Saturday's World Cup quarter-finals, France jumped three spots in the International Rugby Board (IRB) world rankings, and now stand second, just behind the All Blacks, the IRB has announced. In addition, Australia slipped from second to fifth following their 12-10 loss to England in Marseille on the same day. England remains in sixth, but now trail Australia by only 1 point. South Africa remain third and Argentina fourth following their hard-fought quarter-final victories over Fiji and Scotland, respectively.
