Knicks star Stoudemire's brother killed in car crash

Los Angeles - The older brother of New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire was killed on Monday in a car accident in Florida.
Website TMZ quoted the Florida Highway Patrol as saying that Hazell Stoudemire was driving a Cadillac Escalade in Lake Wales at high speed and collided with the rear of a tractor trailer.
Police said that the 35-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and was declared dead at the scene. They are unsure if alcohol was a factor.
The Knicks confirmed Stoudemire was taking a leave of absence and flying to Florida to be with his family. He will not be with the team for Monday night's game against the Jazz in New York. It was not immediately clear when he would rejoin the team.
