Fisher's late 3 points lifts Lakers past Mavericks 73-70

Los Angeles - Derek Fisher fired in a high-arching three-pointer with 3.1 seconds left, lifting the Los Angeles Lakers to a 73-70 home-court victory over the reigning NBA Dallas Mavericks.
The Mavericks had a final shot to send Monday night's game into overtime, but Vince Carter's three-point try banged off the back of the basket at the buzzer, ending their five-game winning streak.
Andrew Bynum had 17 points and 15 rebounds in the Lakers sixth win in the past seven outings. Kobe Bryant netted 14 points while Fisher finished with 13.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points while former Laker Lamar Odom chipped in with 10 off the bench in his first trip to Staples Center since being dealt to Dallas just before the start of the season.
Rudy Gay scored 24 points, Spaniard Marc Gasol had 19 points with 10 rebounds and the host Memphis Grizzlies beat the short-handed Chicago Bulls en route to their season-high third-straight victory 102-86.
The Bulls, who had their five-game winning streak stopped, played without reigning league most valuable player Derrick Rose, out with a lingering toe problem suffered a week ago in Minnesota.
Ryan Anderson hit seven of Orlando's 17 three-pointers en route to a career-high 30 points, JJ Redick added 21 and the visiting Orlando Magic completed a 4-0 road trip after handing the New York Knicks their third-straight loss 102-93 despite 33 points by Carmelo Anthony.
Blake Griffin collected 23 points and 14 rebounds, Chauncey Billups and Caron Butler scored 20 apiece and the LA Clippers minus All-Star guard Chris Paul, who was out with a left hamstring strain, cruised past the visiting New Jersey Nets for their third-consecutive victory 101-91.
Kevin Durant scored 28 points, Russell Westbrook added 26, including a game-sealing three-pointer with 51 seconds left, and the league-best Oklahoma City Thunder (12-2) rolled to their seventh-consecutive victory while sending the slumping Boston Celtics to their fifth-straight loss 97-88.
Jrue Holiday scored a season-high 24 points, Andre Iguodala added 21 and the surging Philadelphia 76ers rolled 92-84 to their ninth win in the past 10 games while dropping the Milwaukee Bucks to 0-8 on the road.
Elsewhere, the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers rallied past the Charlotte Bobcats 102-94; the visiting Houston Rockets rolled the league-worst Washington Wizards 114-106 despite 38 points by John Wall; the Portland Trail Blazers trimmed the visiting New Orleans Hornets 84-77; the visiting Atlanta Hawks soared over the Toronto Raptors 93-84; and the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away to beat the visiting Sacramento Kings 99-86.
