Svendsen wins biathlon sprint

Nove Mesto, Czech Republic - World Cup leader Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway won the men's 10km biathlon sprint Saturday while French brothers Simon and Martin Forcade appeared for the first time together on the podium.
Svendsen missed one target on his way to victory in the Czech venue of Nove Mesto in 27 minutes 13.1 seconds.
Simon Fourcade was 2.2 seconds behind after three errors, while brother Martin was 9.6 seconds back after two errors.
Svendsen moves to 442 points in the overall standings with Martin Fourcade on 396 and Andreas Birnbacher of Germany on 362.
The World Cup continues in Nove Mesto Sunday with men's and women's pursuit races.
