Jan 6, 2012, 19:17 GMT
Oberhof, Germany - Germany's Magdalena Neuner won a commanding 7.5km victory in the women's biathlon World Cup before home fans in Oberhof Friday.
Neuner posted 22 minutes 27.6 seconds for a 37.3-second lead over Darya Damracheva of Belarus after a flawless shooting performance before a crowd of about 18,000 for her 27th World Cup win.
The victory followed a catastrophic shooting display by the double Olympic champion in the relay two days ago.
'I am very happy that everything went as it did and I could tick the relay off... I simply wiped the relay run out of my mind,' Neuner said.
Third was Russia's Olga Saizeva, who was 43.4 seconds behind Neuner.
Neuner moves to 396 points at the head of the overall standings, with Domracheva on 381 and Kaisa Makarainen of Finland on 344.
The biathlon World Cup continues in Oberhof with a men's 10km sprint Saturday before men's and women's mass start races on Sunday.
