Davos, Switzerland - Marit Bjoergen led a Norwegian sweep to claim her victory in the cross-country ski World Cup season in commanding fashion in a 15km freestyle race on Saturday.
The multiple world and Olympic champion Bjoergen, 31, clocked 35 minutes 59.9 seconds for her 49th career victory. Vibeke Skofterud was a distant second, 41.8 seconds behind and Therese Johaug third, 42.2 seconds off the pace.
Bjoergen won the season-opening sprint in Norway and a three-stage race in Finland before her latest success. She did not compete last weekend in sprints in Germany.
She leads the World Cup with 556 points from Skofterud (389) and Johaug (376).
A men's 30km freestyle race was set for later Saturday in Davos. The day's other Nordic events were a Nordic combined competition in Ramsau, Austria, and team ski-jumping at the Czech hill in Harrachov.
