Lillehammer - World champion Eric Frenzel on Sunday won his first nordic combined World Cup event of the season when he triumphed in Lillehammer.
After a jump of 137.5 metres, Frenzel, Austrian Christoph Bieler and France's Maxime Laheurte started the so-called Penalty Race.
It was the first time that those behind the three furthest jumps had to run penalty loops and Frenzel managed to hold onto his lead until the end.
French Olympic champion Jason Lamy Chappuis was second 17.4 seconds behind, while Frenzel's compatriot Bjoern Kircheisen was third.
German Tino Edelmann, who finished 13th on the day, retained the overall World Cup lead.
In Dusseldorf Jesper Modin and Teodor Peterson gave Sweden a first place in the 6 x 1.7 kilometre team sprint race, beating Russia into second place by just 0.2 seconds in a time of 18 minutes 22.7 seconds.
Ola Vigen Hattestad, who won the individual race on Saturday, led Norway to third place.
In the women's relay Norwegians Maiken Caspersen Falla and Mari Eide were too strong for their opponents. The US took second place, followed by Russia.
