Corsica to stage start of 100th Tour de France

Paris - The 100th edition of the Tour de France in 2013 will start on the Mediterranean island of Corsica, race organizers said on Thursday.
It is the first time that Corsica has been included in the world's most prestigious cycling race, and organizers said in a statement that it is the only region of metropolitan France not to have been visited previously by the Tour.
Organizers said that further details will be announced on December 6 at a news conference in the Corsican city of Ajaccio.
The 99th edition of the Tour 2012 starts in Liege, Belgium.
