Hornets' Paul to undergo knee surgery, could miss two months
Feb 4, 2010, 2:36 GMT
Los Angeles - New Orleans Hornets' All-Star guard Chris Paul will undergo arthroscopic surgery for a meniscus tear in his left knee on Thursday, and could be sidelined for up to two months.
Hornets coach Jeff Bower confirmed the decision before Wednesday's shoot-around prior to facing visiting Oklahoma City later in the evening.
'We are anticipating a successful process and we look forward to his rehab, recovery and return to action at some point later on,' Bower said. 'Obviously you never want to be in this position to replace a guard like Chris Paul in the middle of the season.'
Paul will miss the February 14 NBA All-Star Game, but the timetable for the Hornets' top scorer (20.4) and league's assist leader (11.2) will be determined after the surgery.
