Lake Louise, Canada - Renate Goetschl gained revenge on America's Lindsay Kildow Sunday when the Austrian won the women's Alpine World Cup super-g in Lake Louise.
Goetschl finished second to Kildow in Saturday's downhill race but claimed victory in the super-g in a time of 1 minute 20.86 seconds.
Kildow finished in second place, 0.87 seconds adrift. Canada's Kelly Vanderbeek finished third, 0.91 seconds behind the winner.
World Cup favourite Anja Paerson finished in a respectable sixth place while standings leaders Nicole Hosp and Switzerland's Marlies Schild, both of Austria, finished seventh and tenth respectively.
Hosp remains at the top of the standings while for the 31-year-old Goetschl this was her fifth World Cup win at Lake Louise but her first win since her victory in a downhill in Cortina, Italy in January.
Austrians have now won the super-g race for the last four years. Goetschl won in 2003, followed by Michaela Dorfmeister in 2004 and Alexandra Meissnitzer last year.
The women's World Cup season now returns to Europe although a break could occur as there is as yet no replacement venue for St. Moritz in Switzerland, which has had to be called off due to lack of snow.
