Young British royals to be Olympic ambassadors in 2012

London - Britain's Prince William and his wife, Catherine, as well as the younger Prince Harry, will promote British athletes in the run-up to and during the London 2012 Olympic Games, St James's Palace in London announced Thursday.
The trio were named official ambassadors for Team GB and ParalympicsGB and would play an active role in 'encouraging the public to support the sportsmen and women.'
The royals were likely to visit the teams over the coming months before the Olympics begin next July.
In a statement, Prince William, 29, said his wife, the former Kate Middleton, and his younger brother Harry were 'honoured' to fulfil the role. 'We are hugely looking forward to this incredible sporting competition.'
