UN, Britain start countdown to 2012 London Olympics

New York - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon launched a clock Wednesday counting down the 366 days before the Summer Olympics open next year in London.
The digital clock installed at UN headquarters in New York was launched simultaneously with a clock in London.
Mark Lyall Grant, British ambassador to the UN, said the London games will be the 'greenest' Olympics ever. He said the British government will present to the UN General Assembly an Olympics Truce Resolution, which traditionally calls for all states to stop hostilities during Olympic Games.
